Meeting with ANSTO

Romar Founder, Neil Wilson, CEO Alan Lipman and Head of Advanced Manufacturing, Steve Milanoski, visited ANSTO team to discuss potential project collaboration.

ANSTO is one of Australia’s largest public research organisations. It partners with scientists and engineers from both academia and industry to apply new technologies and develop beneficial projects for health, the environment and several industries.

ANSTO’s immense research infrastructure includes OPAL, one of the world’s premier nuclear research reactors; the Australian Synchrotron; the National Imaging Facility Research Cyclotron; and the Centre for Accelerator Science.

Industry innovators such as Romar gain access to state-of-the-art instruments and facilities.

A collaborative future

The intention of the recent visit was to look at ways that Romar and ANSTO can put our expertise together to explore new avenues for our advanced manufacturing and materials capability.

“We talked capability,” explains Alan, “both our capabilities and theirs, and how we can collaborate using the experience and facilities that we both have.”

Romar is exploring utilising ANSTO’s HIP (Hot Isostatic Press) equipment to investigate new material and molding potential. It promises to be the first of several projects between Romar and ANSTO.
